From restored historical residences to contemporary, experimental masterpieces, the Tasmanian landscape is dotted with spectacular and innovative homes.

Now, their inhabitants reveal how they stumbled upon their island properties. They share their journeys to discovering rich, lesser-known Tasmanian treasures, acknowledging its dark history, and embracing an ever-so-slightly ‘off the grid’ lifestyle.

Tasmania Living observes slow, sustainable living in Australia’s southernmost region, showcasing architectural flair, reverence to style and design, passion for local community, and the integration of history and culture in contemporary homemaking practices.

Marita Bullock and Joan-Maree Hargreaves of Three Peaks Studios have just completed a book about Tasmania, its inhabitants and their homes, called Tasmania Living, published by Thames & Hudson.

Three Peaks Studio also work with exceptional collaborators to create visually stimulating publications that offer new perspectives on topics related to art, architecture, culture, society, history and politics. Our stories speak to big picture ideas and issues that underpin our rapidly changing global world.

We create texts that work across the fiction and non-fiction divide, and in doing so, we invite new and creative approaches to seeing and understanding the ‘real’ world.

We’ve just written two non-fiction books for children. The first book, The Big Book of Festivals, illustrated by Liz Rowland, and the second book The Big Book of Exhibits, illustrated by Liz Rowland are both published by Hachette Australia.
